Statua della libertà a Parigi




Anche a Parigi potrete vedere una statua della libertà, lo sapevate? Ebbene sì… e ne potrete osservare più di una! Ce ne sono diversi esemplari a Parigi! Ma dove si trovano e quanto sono grandi?

La famosissima Statua della Libertà di New York fu un regalo proprio della Francia agli Stati Uniti come segno di amicizia tra i due popoli in occasione del centenario della Dichiarazione d’Indipendeza Americana (4 luglio 1776). L’opera, realizzata da Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi con il supporto degli architetti Viollet Le Duc e Gustave Eiffel, si trova ora al centro della baia di Manhattan a New York.

A Parigi però ne sono rimasti diversi esemplari. Il primo modello della statua, infatti, fu costruito in scala ridotta nel 1870 e si trova all’altezza del ponte Grenelle, sull’Île aux Cygnes. La statua è orientata proprio in direzione della sorella maggiore di New York! 🙂

E per finire, oltre ai vari modelli di statua delle libertà sopra elencate, sul ponte de l’Alma si può vedere anche una riproduzione della fiamma simbolo della conoscenza. Questa “Fiamma della libertà” è una riproduzione a grandezza originale della torcia di New York e misura 3,5 metri di altezza.
